Advantages of the OG Solar 110 Solar Power Generator

You’ll be hard-pressed to find another backup solar generator that provides the power that this one does.

4000 Watts of Peak Power

Many home backup generators this size have 1500 to 2,000 watts of power.

The OG Solar 110 essentially doubles that total, allowing it to power your home’s larger devices and appliances, such as your refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and more.

The increased power capability of the Og Solar 110 also means that you can power more smaller devices simultaneously for much longer.

Transportable

While the Og Solar 110 is a bit on the heavy side at 100 lbs, a dolly is included that is attached to the generator, making transport much easier than having to use a handle.

Built-In Charge Controller

The unit’s charge controller is attached to this outside, providing easy and permanent access while protecting the battery from overcharging, as well as ensuring maximum charging efficiency and battery use.

Convenient AC Ports

The AC outlets on the OG Solar 110 are all located on the outside, allowing for easy access. Some units will spread out their AC outlets, or place them inside the unit’s housing.

Limitations of theOG Solar 110 Solar Power Generator

The focus applied to the power of the unit comes at the expense of a few other aspects of the unit.

Looks

The Og Solar 110 features a sort of homemade look, with wires visible and the inverter awkwardly placed on the very top. Although solar generators aren’t made to look good, the overall aesthetics may be a turnoff to someone wanting something that looks a little more clean.

No Screen

While several backup solar generators include a digital display of the battery’s status, the OG Solar 110 does not, leaving you to use the basic indicators on the charge controller instead.

Lack of Port Diversity

The Og Solar 110 comes with three AC ports, and that’s it. No USB, no 3A, and no 12v DC. This can result in the need to use power strips, or charge off of another device that is plugged in, slowing the charge time down.

Conclusion

This generator is a bit awkward looking and seems a little crude.

Even so, the point of a generator is to provide power, and that’s exactly what the OG Solar 110 does – on a much better level than nearly any other backup solar generator.

The extra 2,000 watts of power lets you use nearly all the functions of your home if managed strategically.

Although there are a few drawbacks, the OG Solar 110 is a super-powerful backup generator that will provide you plenty of security and convenience during a time of need.
